THE FRUITS!

This piece is not to tell you my dear one not to attend Church Service on Sabbath days. Of course you should be it a Saturday or Sunday; ”Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy”.

But the question is why do we attend church service? Do we get the message well when it’s being shared? Are we doers of the word?

Today, when oaths of office are being taken its either with a Bible or a Quran.

Today in our churches, we see most of these prayer warriors acting all ‘holy’ but are the opposite outside the church.

Why are there so many hypocrites found in our churches?

Yes!  The church because I call myself a Christian as well so I would touch on what is right before me.

A friend of mine told me about being part of the Choir in her church and how beautifully they sing.  But one thing which she said disgusts her about her colleagues is how comfortable they are when gossiping at church during their rehearsals. These are people who wear cassocks and lead the congregation during the service and they see nothing wrong with their actions.  According to her,  she prompted them of their action but they called her disrespectful. If this is really true then we must change our attitudes as Christians. Don’t say you don’t gossip so you are pure. We are always quick to use harsh words on government officials when we hear of Corruption. I don’t endorse such acts but in as much as we want these officials to do the right thing in their capacity as appointees, we should also do our best to do what’s right.
Christianity is being the church.  By being the church you know  what the fruits of the spirit are and stand for.  It is not for any reason that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has made its focus on the fruits of the spirit in the past years. These shape us and make us better.  These fruits are Love, Selfcontrol, Peace,  Faithfulness, Gentleness, Kindness, Goodness, Joy and Patience

The Apostle Paul stated these as a guide for every good Christian. Therefore remember it’s not all about the Shouts and Prayers. You should pray without ceasing.  I do not dispute the fact that prayer is the weapon of every Christian but if you pray a 1000 times a day and do not have these attributes then I believe you need to go beyond that and be the church.
Thanks for your time dear one!

Reblogged this on Daniel’s Scripts and commented:
Our human nature with all its passions and desires acts like thorns, choking the production of the fruits the Holy Spirit wants to bear in us. Let us put to death our human nature with all its passions and desires and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work.Because by these fruits, the world would know that we are really Christians and indeed born of the Spirit.
